Meredith specifically mentioned she wanted to create “the most kick-a**” counselor’s website in her area–one that showcased her team’s hard-earned expertise, but also made her audience feel like they weren’t alone in her struggles and spoke in a warm, empathetic voice.
Meredith felt like her website didn’t represent the counseling center she spent the last 12 years building. She worried members of her community didn’t understand the breadth of its services and the mental health support they could receive.
Meredith worried she was leaving money on the table–and that the sterile, outdated website didn’t invite people to experience the warmth and compassion of her team. The idea of updating the copy on her own felt daunting when she already felt stretched too thin.
I did tons of Voice of the Customer research to learn exactly why people seek out therapy, especially the types Meredith’s practice offers, and understand how they talk about their mental health struggles and desires
I humanized Meredith’s clinicians by talking about them like they were real people. (Because they are!) When seeking a therapist, people want to feel human-to-human connection and reassurance.
I anticipated Meredith’s ideal clients’ questions and hesitations and provided the information they needed before they could ask or voice them. Not only does this save Meredith and her team time, but it also builds trust. It shows they’ve been around the block a few times, know what questions or hesitations someone might have, and *wants* them to have all the information they need before they inquire.
"She pulled all the information about our brand together so beautifully, gave us a professional tone of voice while also keeping the warmth and humanity I really wanted.
Thank you so much, Val—it was amazing and I’d work with you one million times over! Now I have a beautiful website to show off to everybody!”
